About Me

My photo
I'm a habitual line crosser that believes everything happens for a reason, but life comes with no guarantees, no time outs, no second chances, you just have to live life to the fullest. Laugh as much as you can, spend all your money, tell someone what they mean to you, tell someone off, speak out, dance in the pouring rain, hold someone's hand, comfort a friend, love the ones who treat you right, forget about the ones who don't, pig out, smile until your face hurts, be a flirt, stay up late and fall asleep watching the sun come up, don't be aftraid to take chances or fall in love . . . and most of all live in the moment, If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands. If it changes your life, let it. No one said it would be easy, they just promised it would be worth it.

Health Benefits of Red Wine and White Wine

Health Benefits of Red Wine and White Wine

Is wine healthy? Yes, in moderation and as part of an overall healthy lifestyle. Wine’s alcohol content and nonalcoholic phytochemicals has been shown to reduce the risk of heart disease and certain cancers and slow the progression of neurological degenerative disorders.

However, the amount of wine you drink matters immensely. When you consume more than what is recommended, your health benefits are lost and your health risks go up. Men should have no more than two drinks per day and women should have no more than one drink per day. Note that this is based on an average physical size.

Drinking either red wine or white wine will increase the HDL, or good, cholesterol. However, red wine contains higher levels of powerful phenolic antioxidants then white wine does. These phenolic antioxidants found in red wine will help to keep your LDL, or bad, cholesterol levels healthy. They also help to reduce the blood clotting ability of blood. Both of these actions will help to lessen the risk of cardiovascular disease.
